Curvy, Curly, Conscious (CCC) is the container behind The Unruly Retreat and a digital sanctuary for women becoming. What started as an online community is now a movement of Black women who refuse to shrink themselves for anyone’s comfort.
We exist to build soft, real, brave spaces where truth and tenderness live together. CCC isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about coming home to yourself.
Our values? Community. Transparency. Healing. Humor. Connection.
Our mission? To hold space for your next becoming.

Meet Our Founder
The Shelah Marie
Hey, I’m Shelah Marie. I am a wellness influencer, author, actress, speaker, wife, bonus mom. And, don’t let these titles fool you... I am every bit of Curvy, Curly, Conscious! This is a woman who is forever evolving, pursuing purpose, and creating platforms to support my sisters doing the same.
CCC was my selfish choice...I created what I wanted to see.
This collective was birthed out of my own unique experiences. Growing up, I was the only black woman in my household. Girl, I was the speck of pepper in the salt! That sense of belonging and being understood, let alone accepted did not exist for me. So, I created it.
Curvy, Curly, Conscious has become my refuge. I can’t describe the feelings of finally being able to walk into rooms full of unruly women committed to self-work and healing. I mean we break all the rules -- just to experience the freedoms of writing and living our own truths.
From meditation to twerk sessions, authentic conversations to concrete action, we come together on the common ground that is Curvy, Curly, Conscious to simply learn and evolve into our highest selves.
